If it bleeds, it leads.

July 8, 2005: MBM + NPR = <3

Check out On The Media broadcast on your local NPR station for an interview with Greg Stolze and me. I sound like a complete tool, but Greg is a born spokesman. Anyhoo, we apparently have similar sounding voices so maybe he'll reflect well on yours truly. If you'd rather listen online, the segment is downloadable on the On The Media website.

June 14, 2005: New look! The first supplement! Meatbot Massacre on NPR!

This week we're unveiling a new look for the website! Meatier... Bottier... Massacrier!

It's been a great couple months since we released Meatbot Massacre. Nothing but warm praise and the occasional dry heave. ("A cannon that shoots cancer??"). Actually, the only consistent complaint we've received is the rather slim menu of devourables in the core rules. Hunger no more, because we're working on the the first supplement for Meatbot Massacre. Tentatively titled Meatbag, the goal is to fill out selection with new devourables small and large. Stay tuned!

Also, Greg and I are going to be interviewed on "On the Media," NPR's nationally syndicated media analysis program. I'll keep you informed as events progress!

April 9, 2005: It's over!

Boy, when I said we were in the home stretch last week, I didn't know how right I was. The ransom has been paid, plus some, with five months before deadline! A special thanks goes out to the dude in Texas who just checked the site, saw that the remaining ransom was $135.12, and who sent Greg a payment for that. That's on top of three other donations that kicked us nearly 50 bucks over the ransom. Feel free to download the PDF as often as you want and share it with whoever you want. That's what the Ransom Model is all about. We hope you like the Meatbot Massacre, we think it's tres awesome. Keep checking in to see news about future Stolze/Solis projects. See ya!

April 2, 2005

• With two donations totaling $25 (both from Harvard, oddly enough), we're in the home stretch now. Just a little over a hundred bucks to go before you can sink your teeth into some succulent biomechanical mayhem. Let's hope you don't have to wait five months for the last dollar donation to come in before deadline. ;)

March 19, 2005

• Another $10 and a helpful tip. Apparently, the front page donation link has been kinda broken. It led to a paypal error or something. I have no idea how long it's been like this, but I should have tested it every couple weeks just to make sure. Sorry abo ut any inconvenience it may have caused. I'm just glad the donation link on the Buy page has been working all this time. The link on the front page should be fixed now. The silver lining in all this is that we have a total of $439.88 in donations even with a broken donation link!

• I've also added a contact link just in case this sort of thing happens again.

March 12, 2005

• Another $10 this week for a total of $429.88!

March 6, 2005

• Two donations this week, one for $30 and one from freakin' Australia for $25. We're international, baby! ^_^ Our total to date is $419.88! Less than 200 to go!

February 26, 2005

• With this week's donation of $15 brings our total to $364.88!

February 19, 2005

• Apologies for the delay, but we got $10 last week. This week another $28. That brings our total to $349.88! Good, steady progress all around.

February 5, 2005

• After looking over everything, our current total is $311.88. We're over the hump and we've still got months and months before the deadline!

January 29, 2005

• The first couple weeks after the holidays were kind of slow, but donations are kicking up again this week! We're up to $285.38 we're almost to the half way point of the ransom. We're still right on track for the September deadline. Keep those donations coming!

January 15, 2005

• Ryan Bourret has colored his excellent interior illustrations from the PDF. You can see the results in the art page!

January 1, 2005

• Happy New Year! It's certainly been a wild ride for a lot of people and quite a happy experience as far as Meatbot Massacre goes. We're up to $229.69 this week. Let's hope the last month's momentum continues into 2005!

December 26, 2004

• Whoo! A spike from last week's update brings our total donations to $209.69! That gives us a third of the ransom in under a month. We'll be releasing the meatbots into the arena in no time!

December 18, 2004

• Things are levelling off a bit, but donations are still coming in at a pretty steady clip. Our total so far is a healthy $169.69. We've got some cool surprises in store in the weeks ahead, so stay tuned!

December 11, 2004

• A very happy first week and a good sign that the Ransom Model is working so far. In less than a week, the donations have gone up to a fantastic $124.24. At this rate, Meatbot Massacre will be in the public's hands by early January.

• Added a bulleted description of all the juicy goodness you can expect from the PDF.

• Added the News section to the site to keep everyone up to speed on the latest developments of the site, the game and the Ransom Model.

December 7, 2004

The Meatbot Massacre site officially goes live. To date, we have $11 in donations.
